From aggregate to asphalt

Managed and supported by an experienced staff, Banks Construction Company offers a state of the art asphalt plant strategically located in North Charleston. Our asphalt plant is capable of producing a wide variety of asphalt mixes that meet both SCDOT and private specifications. Tandem truck scales and five 300 ton silos enable the expedited loading of asphalt mix into two trucks simultaneously to provide prompt service to our customers. This gives our plant the ability to provide various mixes to different customers at a production rate of 500 tons per hour. Each mix is monitored by the Quality Control division located on site.

Banks Construction Company has an unloading facility located adjacent to the asphalt plant. It is capable of unloading up to 1,200 tons of aggregate per hour. Quality control testing utilizes an Automatic Field sampling device which allows representative samples to be obtained by the QC technician without stopping production. There is current capacity to store approximately 110,000 tons of quarried aggregate.
