US17 Widening

Mt. Pleasant, SC

This $10 million dollar SCDOT contract was finished 177 days ahead of schedule! This project included:

• Widening US17 from I-526 intersection to the Isle of Palms Connector intersection - four lanes to six
• New curb medians
• Six new traffic signals
• Increased turn lanes at all intersections
• Expansion of the I-526 off ramp from two to five lanes

• Widened sections of IOP Connector.

Substantial public utility relocations were required for this project. Great teamwork between Banks Construction Company and its subcontractors led to this remarkable achievement of finishing a job with such a high volume of traffic so quickly.
