New Year. New Burner. Check it out!

This past weekend we successfully replaced our Charleston Plant burner.

The previous burner was from the 90s, making this the first replacement we’ve had to do. The new one will allow us to burn cleaner and more efficiently too.

Awesome job to everyone who worked nonstop to see the plant team roll out their first test mix with the new setup Monday morning!

We mill away the preexisting surface, sweep the road of any debris, apply a fresh coat of tack to ensure the asphalt bonds to the surface, and then lay a nice mat of asphalt.

Check out the I-26 Widening update with Project Manager Lee Murray as he shares an overview of the project, what we’re currently working on, and what’s to come!

Back in October 2022, we attended the groundbreaking, and Banks was excited to get started on the largest Project we’ve had with the SCDOT.

As of this year, we are officially back out on I26 as we begin to widen 7 miles of the interstate into the median, and more. Currently, @robertcollinsco is clearing, and we’re milling OGFC off of the interstate, and placing asphalt.

We are looking forward to continuing to work with the SCDOT, HDR, and our Banks team on this Project!

On February 28th, Banks attended the SCAPA Winter Conference in Columbia, SC. We heard from a lot of key individuals within this industry, throughout the state of SC, and enjoyed connecting with exhibitors and attendees during the event.

We were also excited to have been awarded a 2022 Quality Pavement Award within the state for our recently completed Topgolf North Charleston Project. This award makes it our 7th SCAPA award in the past 6 years.

This Topgolf was among some of the first to utilize a paved outfield and came with its own new set of challenges for this team. We want to thank all of our team who brought this one home. We couldn't do it without each and every one of you!

Last Monday, some Tiger Alumni here at Banks spent some time with the Director of Development Lieshe Lane, and Dr. de la Garza from the College of Engineering, Computing, and Applied Science at Clemson University.

During their visit with us, they were able to meet so many special team members as well as tour a job site, and our lab, and learn about other divisions within our company.

We enjoyed talking with them about so many things, and the visit left us excited and hopeful for the limitless opportunities and future ahead for this industry and the people who are a part of it.
