Safety in the Community

In the early morning of July 30th 2025, there was an accident involving a truck driver who fell asleep at the wheel and hit one of our attenuators on the eastbound side, right before the Cypress Campground overpass on I-26.

Emergency responders arrived, made sure everyone was okay, and put out the fire.

After the fire was out, some of our Banks team on site assisted in the cleanup process. This saved hours of the interstate being shut down.

We wanted to give the I-26 team a shout-out for always stepping in to help out, and we’re so thankful that everyone is alright. Thanks to the quick work of emergency responders and our team, the interstate reopened sooner and helped keep our community moving.

A great example of our team living out our Core Value of Safety on the job no matter the situation. Here at Banks, our mission is to provide a safe work environment for all of our team members, while also protecting the general public affected by our projects. If a workplace or work practice is perceived to be unsafe, we will not proceed until the issue is resolved.
