Richard Rhode Retires

Last Thursday, some of the Banks team got together for a special lunch to celebrate someone who’s meant so much to Banks Construction. After 18 and a half years of leadership, mentorship, and steady guidance, Survey Division Manager Richard Rhode is officially retiring. It only felt right to send him off with good food, great stories, and plenty of laughs as we said thank you.

During his time at Banks, Richard has been recognized for his great knowledge, the impact he’s made on the company’s growth and innovation, his mentorship and support, and embodying our companies core values to the highest standards. He’s built a reputation as a highly respected, deeply impactful leader.

Mr. Richard Rhode

Read what some of the Banks team had to say about the special person he is:

“Mr. Richard has been a great boss. He and Trey gave me a chance to join survey in 2016. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience in surveying, and he is a great teacher. It is always good to work for somebody that has been in your situation and understands what you’re going through. He is also willing to help even when the help is not just work related, like with my gardening and my hunting.  I can’t express how thankful I am for his patience and guidance, and I wish him the best retirement.” Automation Superintendent Phillip Bellew

“Richard Rhode has been an instrumental part of our company’s success for the last 18 years. He has lead our survey division with impeccable character and innovation. “The Sheriff” is truly part of our family, and will be missed by us all. His unassuming, confident and proficient leadership style has served as a model to many of us. A standing ovation for you Richard – may you truly enjoy your retirement!!” President & CEO Reid Banks

“Mr. Richard has been a friend and mentor for over 20 years. Thank you for all of the knowledge that you have passed along and the opportunities that have come from that. Congrats on your retirement! It is well deserved!” Crew Chief Manager Robert Risher

“It has been an absolute privilege to work alongside Mr. Richard during his tenure here. I am personally grateful for this opportunity. His knowledge base and attention to detail is truly amazing. He is ‘one of a kind.’ I could not begin to list all of the things I have learned from Mr. Richard. As you start this new chapter, I wish you nothing but the best. And please know you will be missed. Thank you and congratulations.” VP of Business & Engineering Services Brent Evans

“I have had the pleasure of working with Richard for the majority of my time here at Banks. Richard is a true model of our core values as his Integrity and Excellence are second to none. Thank you for being a mentor to me for all of these years and I wish you all the best in your much deserved retirement.” Assistant VP of Project Management Operations Brian Jones

“When I started with Banks, working with Mr. Richard was very intimidating due to his knowledge and experience in the construction survey industry. My biggest fear was letting him down. All through my time at Banks Richard has always been there to help. He has supported and instructed, as well as corrected when needed. I wish Mr. Richard well on his next endeavor, and will truly miss him at Banks. We are not just having an employee retire, we are having a friend retire.” Automation Manager Trey Cox

“Mr. Richard has been a true example of integrity, excellence, and consistent leadership over his 18.5 years with Banks. We’re grateful for all he’s taught us, and we’ll miss him dearly. Wishing you the very best in your well-earned retirement, sir!” Operations Group Manager Blake Banks

“Mr. Richard is one of those great leaders that not only takes a lot of pride in what he does but also wants it from his employees in every task they perform. While working under him for several years he has shown what it is to be a strong leader while teaching those under him how tasks should be done properly. What a tremendous asset to Banks Construction Mr. Richard has been. He will be missed by all.” Automation Superintendent Mike Buchanan

Thank you, Richard, for over 18 great years of making a difference on our team. Congratulations on retirement and this new chapter of life. You will, without a doubt, be missed by so many!
